Our Resident Musicians

We are extremely fortunate in having our own Resident Musicians:
Neil Moore, who functions as our Musical Director;
and
Jacqueline Bevan, who is our indispensable accompianist.
Neil Moore is an experienced choral conductor, countertenor, and educator, and currently serves as Musical Director of the Wincanton Choral Society. Born in Belfast, Neil discovered his love of choral music early, later studying music at the University of Glasgow, where he was active as both a performer and conductor. After completing his PGCE in Edinburgh, he established a varied musical career that now spans conducting, singing, and teaching.
Neil directs several choirs across Somerset and is widely admired for his warm, energetic rehearsal style and his ability to draw confident, expressive singing from amateur musicians. Since joining Wincanton Choral Society, he has led the choir through ambitious repertoire and has helped to strengthen its musicianship, identity, and artistic goals.

Jacquelyn Bevan is the resident accompanist for the Wincanton Choral Society. A classically trained pianist with over 30 years of professional experience, she combines technical mastery with exceptional musical sensitivity. Jacquelyn has performed widely as a freelance accompanist and repetiteur, supporting soloists, choirs, and competitions including BBC Young Musician, ABRSM, and Trinity examinations. She is also a founding member of Trio Paradis, a Bath-based chamber ensemble dedicated to bringing accessible live music to communities across the South West. Her warmth, precision, and collaborative spirit make her an invaluable musical partner both on stage and in rehearsal.
